To coincide with the service, the Cathedral also launched its new website. Newcastle this year hosted the national Holocaust memorial day, and a range of resources are available for those who want to find out more about these important commemorations. Find out more here. On
Wednesday 25th July the Diocese of Newcastle celebrated its
125th Anniversary; a special service was held at the
Cathedral to celebrate the event, which was led by Bishop
Martin. The Archbishop of York, The Most Reverend and Right
Honourable John Sentamu (pictured), preached at the service,
which marked 125 years to the day since the first Bishop of
Newcastle was enthroned at Durham Cathedral.

part of the Diocesan 125th Anniversary Celebrations, Great North Eastern
Railways have launched the Diocese of Newcastle train,
which will run between Kings Cross and Scotland.
