Chaplains provide spiritual and
pastoral care for patients, carers and staff of all
faiths or none. We receive requests and referrals from
community teams as well as in-patient areas. We liaise
with representatives of the range of faith communities
on Tyneside.
We provide training, information
and advice for staff and seek to co-operate with local
faith communities and other community and voluntary
agencies to provide good practice in mental health care
and health care of elderly people.
The Chaplaincy is a resource to
churches and other faith communities especially on
matters of mental health care and the care of older
people.
Please contact the Chaplaincy
Centre for any further information. Videos and
publications as well as speakers/trainers are available
to assist churches and others in the care of people with
dementia and mental health problems.
