Style of
Worship:
Our approach to
worship is ‘dignified but unfussy’, and very varied,
ranging from the liturgy of the Parish Communion to the
informal ‘Sunday @ 11’. Music plays an important part in
these services. The other regular services are quiet and
simple.
The tradition of
the Parish is broad and diverse, recognising and
celebrating the different ways in which our worshippers
seek to approach God.
Our
Mission
All Saints’ sees
its vocation as being a focus of community life in our
neighbourhood, working ecumenically with other
Christians in the area. Although our roots are strongly
in Gosforth, many of our congregation come from further
afield. We aim to offer a warm welcome to young people
and youth work is a high priority for us. We are active
partners of a local Church of England First School. We
are committed in our support of mission projects
locally, nationally and overseas.

The
Church:
Designed in the
“arts and crafts” style by local architect Robert
Johnson, the church was built in the 1880’s. All Saints’
is noted for its beautiful woodcarving, and stained
glass, and is home to a fine Harrison organ. Vestments,
banners and other embroidery decorating the church are
largely the work of parishioners. The tower contains a
peal of ten bells.
The church hall
is home to a number of local clubs and is available for
hire. Between the hall and church is our Garden of
Remembrance, and there is also a large green space on
the site.
