The Northumbria Deaf Mission was
established in 1876 to minister to the spiritual
worship, pastoral and welfare needs of the deaf and hard
of hearing and is the agency through which the Dioceses
of Durham and Newcastle seek to fill their
responsibilities for ministry among deaf people.
